FamilyShield Guard is designed to help parents and guardians pair child devices, manage app permission requests, define screen-time and access rules, and receive safety notifications. This policy explains what data we process and why.
1. Data we process
- Account data: name, email address, sign-in provider, session tokens
- Child and device data: child profile identifier, device label, platform, pairing records, device access tokens, and device status metadata
- Policy and approval data: policy sync records, app permission requests, approval/rejection history, device event signals
- Notification data: push tokens, notification preferences, optional webhook URL, optional notification email address, delivery and error logs
- Preference and audit data: language, dashboard layout, notification filters, audit history for preference changes
- Camera permission: used only on the child device to scan the parent pairing QR code. The live camera view is not stored by us; only the decoded pairing code is used to complete pairing. QR scanning is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
2. Why we use data
- To authenticate guardian accounts and maintain secure sessions
- To connect child devices to a family account and deliver policy updates
- To route install, access, and extra-time requests into the guardian approval flow
- To send notifications, monitor delivery health, and troubleshoot technical issues
- To protect service security, data integrity, and auditability
3. When data may be shared
Data may be shared only when necessary to provide the service, including with the identity providers you choose (Apple, Google, Microsoft), push infrastructure, webhook or email services you explicitly configure, and authorities when required by law. We do not sell personal data.
4. Children's information and tracking
FamilyShield Guard is not designed for children to manage the guardian console directly. Child-device data is processed only for pairing, parental control, approvals, policy enforcement, and safety notification features. We do not use child-device data for third-party advertising or behavioral ad tracking.
5. Retention, security, and international processing
Data is retained only as long as needed to provide the service, protect security, and comply with legal obligations. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security. If service providers or notification channels process data in another country, those transfers may be subject to the applicable laws of that jurisdiction.
6. Your choices and deletion requests
You can update app preferences, disconnect notification channels, and request access, correction, or deletion of applicable data by contacting hello@familyshieldapp.com. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, audit, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this public URL and linked from the app store listings.
